RBC launches membership program for healthcare professionals

Perks include preferred rates on investments and business banking

Royal Bank of Canada has launched a new membership program for healthcare professionals that combines products and services with special benefits and rewards, the Toronto-based bank announced Tuesday.

The program, called RBC Healthcare Advantage, offers healthcare practitioners a variety of business and personal banking solutions, as well as perks such as preferred rates for investments and business banking, and bonus reward points for medical membership fees, RBC said in a release.

RBC Healthcare Advantage comes in two versions: the Advantage plan, designed for medical students, residents and new professionals; and the Advantage Pro plan, designed for established professionals.

The program is offered by the bank’s RBC Healthcare division, which launched last year, according to the release. RBC said it has more than 500 “healthcare specialists” who provide tailored financial advice and solutions to healthcare clients.

The competition for doctors’ business has ramped up in the past year, with BMO, Bank of Nova Scotia, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Toronto-Dominion Bank all launching services tailored to healthcare professionals.
